Business Golf Society raises £695 for Francis House

A Business Golf Society charity event, sponsored by David Harris from Target Fire Protection Ltd in Rochdale, has raised £695 for Francis House Children’s Hospice.

The event, held on Tuesday 30 September at Formby Golf Club saw 84 golfers come together to raise money for the children’s hospice.

David said: “As they are one of our clients, I have visited the Hospice and think that the work they do is brilliant. The children there are at the latter end of their lives and they just make it a happier time for them. I just thought they were a good cause to raise money for.”

Francis House provides care for children and young adults with life threatening conditions and also provides a home from home where families can receive professional care, support and friendship.

A charity raffle was also held on the day as well as money being collected in envelops for the charity.

“I am very pleased with the total raised. I have to say a big thank you to all of our golfers who helped raise the money” said David.

The Business Golf Society holds ten events a year, often for different charities with each event sponsored by a different business.

David added: “We have previously raised money for Springhill Hospice and last year our event raised over £1,000 so they are good events.”
