Business blings for Emma Tully

Date published: 10 September 2014

Emma Tully from Rochdale is providing a unique service to people across the borough and that is blinging their products by adding Swarovski crystals to them.

Emma, who was originally a beautician, began adding crystals to products after being approached by her niece.

She said: “I was adding crystals to nails and my niece asked me if I would do her shoes so I did them and then people kept asking me to do things for them and it went from there.”

Emma has now set up Swarovski Converse Manchester and has been providing the service to people on a variety of products all over the world for the past 18 months.

“There is a lot of demand for this type of thing,” said Emma. “In Rochdale I have people bringing me the products that they want me to bling but I can also get the things that people want blinging. I have done everything from trainers to outfits and accessories.”

In the short space that she has been running her business, Emma has covered over 15 countries and has provided products for Liverpool football player Steven Gerrard, former English footballer David May and show jumper Jasmine Punter.

Emma added: “It is nice because you build relationships with your clients and then it goes from doing one item to doing their wedding and then their baby and then the babies' first birthday.”

As well as customising products for her clients, Emma also holds ‘Bling Day’ events where children can attend and do the blinging process themselves.

Emma has also recently been approached by those behind Blinging Up Baby, the channel 5 TV series which looks at the growing trend amongst parents in kitting out their children in top to toe glamour.

“I haven’t got children of my own and the show is more about parents and their children but I know a lot of mums who want things doing so I have suggested some parents and hopefully we can all go on together,” said Emma.

Currently working from home, Emma one day hopes to have her own shop but would really love to see her name on shoes.

“I still can’t believe I am still doing what I am doing but one day the one thing I would love is a shoe with my name on it. Like Lelli Kelly. Nice sparkly shoes with my name on them,” said Emma.
