Top O’Th Meadow Farm provides renewable energy to Rochdale

Top O’Th Meadow Farm is a government approved biomass supplier, providing renewable energy to Rochdale
Top O’Th Meadow Farm in Norden has been approved by the government as an official biomass energy supplier.
Biomass energy comes from renewable resources, which helps reduce the carbon footprint.
Chris Ashton, from Top O’Th Meadow Farm, said: “Our sister company, Special Branch, is a tree surgery. Once trees become too dangerous or diseased, Special Branch cuts them down and Top O’Th Meadow Farm is recycles those trees.”
“We make logs and woodchips, both of which are biomass energy resources.”
Trees are biomass energy resources as they take in as much carbon as they release, unlike other energy resources such as oil or coal. This means that they are carbon neutral.
“We only use trees from the Rochdale area, which are then recycled back into Rochdale’s homes for burning. We are extremely eco-friendly,” explains Chris.
Top O’Th Meadow Farm’s approval as an official biomass energy supplier by the government means that their products are regulated and proven to be from a renewable resource.
