Date published: 21 July 2014

Amanda Harley, from Rochdale, has been announced as Revenue Director for the Titanic Hotel Liverpool.

The 153 bedroom luxury hotel which launched earlier this month is complete with dedicated restaurant ‘Stanley’s Bar and Grill’, ‘The Rum Bar’, T Spa and a 1,000 capacity events space ‘The Rum Warehouse’.

Amanda who now lives on the Wirral is excited to embark on a great challenge and make Liverpool’s newest hotel a success.

Amanda said: “My partner’s family live in Liverpool so I commute to the city every weekend. I have drove past Stanley Dock for many years and always said to myself if I won the lottery I would love someone to regenerate this particular part of Liverpool.
“Now, my dream has become a reality and every day I come to work more passionate than the day before.

Amanda continued: “My role focuses on researching and analysing different markets, for example; who we want to sell our rooms to, the behaviours of these particular types of customers and how much we would sell our rooms for.

“I have a lot of experience from previous roles in my career and this has certainly prepared me for the voyage ahead.”

Amanda who studied International Hospitality Management at university secured a placement at Macdonald Hotels whilst studying. When given a taste of the industry she knew instantly this was the field she wanted to work within.

Upon graduation Amanda was offered a role as reception team leader at Norton Grange Hotel, she then moved to Pack Horse Hotel Bolton and became front of house manager. After several years in the industry Amanda has worked in a variety roles around the country.

These include; assessment manager at Alton Hampshire, reservations manager at Leyland Hotel, general manager at Willow Bank Hotel, group revenue manager at Queen Hotel Chester and lastly, before joining the Titanic, reservations manager at Double Tree Hotel Chester.

Amanda added: “The Titanic hotel is the only one of it’s kind in Liverpool. It has a bar, restaurant, spa and events space, this is not just a hotel it is a destination. I need to ensure in my role I thoroughly understand our competition and customers in order to do it justice.

“The history is also another very important aspect of the hotel. The team and I are really proud to regenerate Stanley Street Dock, a few of my colleagues even have family ties to the Dock and it is overwhelming. We are bringing it back to life.

“I have a son Stanley, aged three and to think one day in many years he can look and see a lively and thriving area of the city that was once abandoned, well, it is just phenomenal.”
