Littleborough Business Centre opens for business
Date published: 04 July 2014
Littleborough Business Centre has officially opened today (Friday 4 July). The centre which is located on Church Street has been set up by business partners Karen Simpson and Heather Wild.
Officially opening the business centre, Rochdale Online Director John Kay said: “I am delighted to have been approached by Karen and Heather to officially open this business centre today. I am the chairman of the Pennine Business and Tourism group and we are about promoting Littleborough and the businesses in Littleborough. We are the centre for tourism in [the borough of] Rochdale and we have the ability to attract thousands of visitors to the area and with that, thousands of pounds. Karen and Heather have really seen the potential to create a business hub in Littleborough and I think that it will be a great success and I wish them all of the luck for the future.”
Karen and Heather already own an accountancy from located next door to the new venture. Karen said: “We deal with clients locally and they were approaching us and asking us to help with things that we couldn’t so we decided to buy the building next door and offer the space to people who can offer a variety of things.”
The centre is offering office space for businesses but is also offering desk space for people who need space for short term work.
Karen said: “We want this to become a business hub for Littleborough so it can be used as a virtual hub or people can rent full office space or people can just come in and rent a desk for when they need some extra space for work. Rentals can be done by day, by month or even just by the hour.”
Both being born and bred in Littleborough, Karen and Heather wanted to keep the centre in the village.
Heather said: “Littleborough is an amazing village and we are starting to see more and more businesses and people arriving here so if we can help facilitate that a bit more then that will be brilliant for the village.”
An open day event held today helped to show case the premises to potential clients.
Heather added: “We have had people interested in what we have to offer but we wanted to wait until we were officially open to start renting the spaces out to people.”
As well as office space, the facility has an on site conference room so people can hold conferences and business meetings right in the heart of Littleborough.
“A lot of small businesses have conferences outside of Littleborough so this room can help people stay in the area,” added Karen.
