Mayor Peter Rush and Mayoress Monica Rush open Nathan’s Diner
In one of his last official appointments before handing over his mayoral chains to the new mayor, (now former) Mayor Peter Rush and Mayoress Monica Rush were treated to a taste of the United States as they opened Nathan’s American Diner on Dale Street in Milnrow.
The new venture is the brainchild of local lad Nathan Kilroy-Doyle. He said: “We spotted a gap in the market here in the village and once we decided to go for it, we never looked back.
"We are alcohol free and offer an eat in, delivery or take away service.
"We pride ourselves on making things from scratch and specialise in home made burgers and pizzas. All of our chicken is free range and our milkshakes are our pride and joy.
“The mayor really seemed to enjoy his food, although I think the extra spicy chicken with chillies may have been a bit too hot for his palate.”
