Saks hair and beauty salon opens in Middleton

Date published: 08 April 2014

Saks hair and beauty salon has officially opened in Middleton this evening (Tuesday 8 April).

The salon, which is located in the Virgin Active Lancashire Health and Racquet club on Heywood Old Road, is the first of its kind to be opened in a partnership with Virgin.

Salon owner Kelly Watts said: “This is the first Saks to open in a Virgin Atlantic health club so it is a great opportunity for everyone.”

The club previously had a salon on the premises but has not housed one for a number of years. Kelly added: “People from the community were asking for a salon again so we decided to bring it back for those people.”

Saks is celebrating 40 years this year and wanted to celebrate that by expanding their brand.

This is the first time that Kelly has worked in Middleton. Having previously worked for Saks in Cheadle, she knew she wanted to stick with the brand when opening her own salon.

She added: “They are a great brand that offer a lot of support and guidance so I knew that If I were to open my own salon, I wanted it to be with them,” said Kelly.

The new salon is a hair and beauty salon so offers a variety of hair treatments as well as nail treatments, massages and aromatherapy treatments.

“We use high quality products and use products that haven’t been used here before,” added Kelly.

This is the first Saks salon to be opened in Middleton and is the first salon to be owned by Kelly. Kelly now hopes to fill the salon with community spirit and hopes to keep that going over the coming years.

Kelly said: “I hope this brings a real community feel to Middleton and for the future I hope we can have more salons and just grow throughout the
community.”

Even though the health club is for members only, the salon is open to members of the general public and is located inside of the club on the right hand side.
