Rochdale man wins apprentice award

Date published: 09 January 2014

A Rochdale apprentice has won BMW’s Service Technician Apprentice of the Year award.
Andrew, who works at the Williams Rochdale workshop, was chosen as the winner of the Apprentice of the Year award from more than 45 BMW apprentices throughout the UK.

The 25 year old joined Williams in 2007 as a Service Administrator before making the move to the workshop four years ago.

Having attended the Academy to receive his award, Andrew said: “It’s an absolute honour to have been recognised and rewarded for my efforts. I was up against some very strong competition, so to be chosen as the winner is truly humbling.

“The past four years have been both challenging and enjoyable. I’m delighted to have won and genuinely proud to represent Williams.”

Tony Crolla, Dealership Principal at Williams Rochdale, added: “This is a fantastic achievement by Andrew. He is an absolute pleasure to work with and I have no doubt that he will continue to excel and achieve his career ambitions here at Williams.”
The award offers Andrew a second reason to celebrate because he recently secured a full-time role as a Service Technician at Williams Rochdale.

As well as being presented with his award, which is now on display in the workshop, Andrew was also rewarded with a three-day trip to BMW’s headquarters in Munich, Germany.
