Rochdale hairdresser styles at The Clothes Show

Rochdale hairdresser, Robyn Finc has taken staff from her salon to the 2013 Clothes Show Live.

Robyn, who at age 22 is the franchisee of Saks Oldham, took it upon herself to put forward her team for the show.

Robyn said: “The Art team said they needed help with The Clothes Show so I decided to put us forward for it and thought if it is a no, then it’s a no but if it’s a yes, then it’s a winner.”

Robyn has been hairdressing for five years and began as an apprentice in Rochdale. She was working for Saks for a year before being offered the job as franchisee in Oldham.

Robyn said she has always wanted to do something like the clothes show: “It is something I have always wanted to do and me and some of the other stylists are interested in fashion.”

Held at Birmingham NEC arena, the Clothes Show is a five day fashion festival packed with top fashion trends, beauty brands, hair
demonstrations, non stop catwalk shows, makeovers, trend reports, celebrities and the next generation’s talent.

For the show, Robyn and her team of three styled the hair of the models. “They did seven shows a day and we styled their hair in the morning and then stayed to touch it up throughout the day,” said Robyn.

As well as doing the hair of models in the show, Robyn and the stylists from Saks got to style some of the stars from The Only Way Is Essex. “One of the girls got to style Jessica Wright's hair and I got to do her mum's hair,” said Robyn.

Robyn described her experience at The Clothes Show as “amazing.” She added: “It is really weird going from styling the hair of celebrities to being back at work in Oldham but it was really good.”

Now Robyn has finished with The Clothes Show she hopes to do more events of a similar nature. “We have put ourselves forward for Men’s Fashion Week in London in January and then we want to try and do London Fashion Week in September,” said Robyn.

Robyn is feeling confident about styling at Men’s Fashion Week but until then is keeping the salon busy. Robyn added: “Saks motto is to make people feel special so that is what we hope to keep doing whilst keeping the salon busy.”
