Business exhibition showcases products and services

Date published: 26 September 2013

The annual Rochdale Rochdale Rochdale (RRR) Business Exhibition returned to Rochdale Town Hall yesterday (25 September) and saw local businesses showcase their products and services to visitors.

John Kay, director of Rochdale Online said: “It was a great success and gave the opportunity for lots of small businesses in Rochdale to experience a well run and highly organised trade fair.”

Mayor, Councillor Peter Rush attended the exhibition, along with Rochdale Council Chief Executive Jim Taylor and other council officers.

Rochdale Council Chief Executive Jim Taylor said: “There was a fantastic turnout at the Business Exhibition, and it had a great atmosphere. It’s great to see local businesses working together to organise events such as this.”

John Byrne, founder of Rochdale Rochdale Rochdale, said: “I met business leaders from the borough and I was really delighted with my participation in the event.”

John formed the RRR group in 2011 to highlight the pride and productivity ongoing in the borough.

Delphine Greenhalgh from DG Consultancy, and Rochdale President of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: “The RRR event was a very good forum to meet existing and potential Chamber members. I am always amazed at the varied spread of exhibitors and visitors”.

Rochdale Council Director of Economy and Environment Mark Widdup said: “Following the completion of Drake Street and the signing of the Genr8 contract, events such as this give a real boost to businesses in Rochdale. I hope that it will become a regular event for local businesses to share ideas and promote themselves.”

Chief Executive of Rochdale Development Agency John Hudson said: “I welcome the fact that this is another example of businesses working together to support local enterprise and growth. It was pleasing to see the variety of businesses represented and understand what they are trying to achieve at first hand".

This was the third RRR business exhibition to be held and was promoted through Rochdale Online. Businesses involved in the exhibition also did their own promotion via banners, leaflets and email.

Previous exhibitions have also received high praise with 88% of people involved saying they would return.

It is anticipated the event, organised by Rochdale Online, will return for the fourth time next year.
