Two key appointments at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce

Date published: 18 April 2013

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) announced today two major management appointments with the arrival of Stella Bowdell as Head of Membership and Paul Smith as Head of Communications.

As part of the Chamber’s broader engagement strategy, these two key appointments follow hard on the heels of last week’s announcements of a new website and corporate branding.

Chamber Chief Executive, Clive Memmott said: “Our members, in these challenging times, need us to deliver a service which offers help, support and timely insight. The appointment of Stella and Paul is part of this wider strategy to make sure that the Chamber offer meets and where possible exceeds those expectations.”

Stella Bowdell joins the Chamber from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), where she led the IC, the membership body for consultants and consulting firms, and previously held senior roles at CMI in both regional membership development, and B2B functions. Having worked for many years in B2B, she has significant experience across key sectors.

Paul Smith joins the Chamber from Creative England. He brings an extensive array of experience, having held senior communications roles at Creative England, UK trade bodies Noctis and Pact as well as significant spell overseeing corporate communications and PR for factual programmes at Channel 4.
