Rochdale Town Centre Business Awards 2010/11
Voting for this year’s Town Centre Business Awards has now opened.
The first award that the public can vote for is for the Employee of the Year Award.
Managers and owners of town centre businesses have been busy nominating their top members of staff for the prestigious Employee of the Year Award, sponsored by The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre.
To nominate a member of staff, owners and managers had to fill in an application form showing that person fits the following criteria:
- Background information that includes length of service, position(s) held, what makes them stand out, and reasons why this person has been nominated.
- An enthusiastic person, age immaterial, who is always looking for ways to improve the service he/she gives to the customer and what is different about their approach.
- Demonstrate that the nominee is a knowledgeable employee who can work with customers in assessing and fulfilling their needs.
- Evidence that the employer has allowed the employee to develop his/her own strengths and that these have been applied within the business.
Over the next few weeks, the public will have the opportunity to vote in 6 different categories of the Business Awards. Each person that votes will be entered into a prize draw to win £250 to spend in Rochdale town centre.
Martin Ballard, Manager of The Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre said: “Every town needs to have its own Unique Selling Point, otherwise it loses its identity; Rochdale has some fantastic assets in buildings such as the Town Hall and some great traders, but most of all it is the quality of its people - and that’s what makes me proud to sponsor this award as it highlights those who put in the extra effort, who take their job to the next level and most of all who take ownership of their business, their customers and their town!”
If you would like to vote, simply read the profiles of each nominee and tell us why you think they deserve to win. It is important that you indicate your reason for voting for that person, as the winners and runners-up will be chosen by judges for the best reasons given. Perhaps you recognise someone who has given you great service in the past in the town centre.
