Appeal for 1940's memorabilia

Date published: 25 July 2009

Heywood Business Group is appealing for anyone with memorabilia or stories of life in Heywood during the 40's to get in touch.

The business group is organising a 1940's themed day on 5 September; the event will be throughout the town centre with games and displays stretching from Lidl car park at one end of town to the market at the other.

Ian Beddoes, Heywood Business Group publicity officer, says: "There will be something for all ages with a variety of competitions and an afternoon tea dance. We are also asking for anyone with memorabilia or stories of life in Heywood during the 40's to get in touch with us either via the email (heywoodbusinessgroup@googlemail.com) or by calling me on 01706 360423."
