Date published: 24 October 2024

The director of Rochdale-based Nails by Codie Ltd has been recognised as runner-up in the UK Beauty Awards.

Codie Chown, director and lead nail technician at the town centre company, has recently been named as runner-up for the prestigious UK’s Best Nail Technician award. This recognition, part of the UK Beauty Awards 2024, highlights her skill and dedication, marking a significant achievement for the local business.

Over the past few years, Nails by Codie has experienced significant growth. The business has cultivated a loyal customer base, expanded its services, and launched an affordable range of nail products.

In addition to in-salon services, Codie has introduced online courses designed to help aspiring nail technicians and beauty enthusiasts develop their skills. The aim, Codie explains, is to make high-quality nail care accessible to a wider audience while fostering talent within the industry.

Speaking about her achievement, she said: “Being named runner-up in the UK’s Best Nail Technician competition has been a huge personal achievement and a proud moment for our business.

“It’s not only a reflection of the hard work we’ve put in but also highlights the incredible talent that comes out of Rochdale.”

The UK Beauty Awards, an annual event celebrating excellence across the beauty industry, offers categories that recognise individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to the field.

With the awards showcasing everything from product innovations to technical skills, being a finalist is considered a great honour in the beauty world.

Codie’s recognition also represents a significant moment for Rochdale, as she continues to put the town on the map through her success. She continued: "We’ve always aimed to represent our town on a national level, and this recognition helps us do just that."

In addition to her recent award, Codie hopes to inspire others in the local community by sharing her journey. She now looks forward to highlighting the growth of Nails by Codie, the launch of her new product line, and her mission to help fellow beauty professionals succeed.

She added: “We’d love to share more about our business’s growth, the new products and courses we offer, and the journey that’s brought us here. I believe our story would inspire fellow business owners and beauty professionals in the community, showing that success is possible through dedication and local support.”
