Business Growth Hub to offer free advice from Wheatsheaf Centre

Date published: 25 June 2019

Free advice for young and new businesses will soon be available from GC Business Growth Hub, part of The Growth Company, in the pop-up space in the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre, Rochdale.

The GC Business Growth Hub supports businesses at all stages of their growth journey with a broad range of services, such as one-to-one and peer-to-peer business support, events, specialist programmes, funding and more.

Now they will be offering free business advice to new and fledgling businesses, and those thinking of starting a business, on a monthly basis from Rochdale town centre between 10am and 2pm on 16 July, 20 August and 17 September.

Ashley Alletson, Start Up Advisor, GC Business Growth Hub said: “Myself and GC Business Growth Hub are really excited to be using the Rochdale BID's pop-up shop in the Wheatsheaf for our monthly drop in sessions.

“It’s a great chance for local businesses that have been trading for less than three years to come and see the pop-up shop, get fully-funded business advice and to find out what support is available. The Start Smart programme offers a range of workshops and one-to-one support, so there will be something for every business.

“I’d urge any start-up businesses to come and have a chat, see the space and find out what GC Business Growth Hub can do to help your business to reach its full potential.”

Paul Ambrose, Rochdale Business Improvement District (BID) Manager said: “I’m delighted that the Business Growth Hub have chosen to use the BID pop-up shop in the Wheatsheaf Centre.

“The Business Growth Hub offers dedicated advisors who are passionate about giving businesses and entrepreneurs access to growth programmes, expertise and information and I recommend that any small businesses or those who are thinking about setting up their own business visit the pop-up shop to seek free advice.

“Rochdale has a wealth of business talent and I’m delighted that the BID is supporting the Growth Hub.”

The pop-up space occupies a central location within the shopping centre, adjacent to Fulton Foods and near Fizz Bomb, for those who would like a trading opportunity for a week at a time in Rochdale town centre.

A BID is a business-led and business funded body formed to improve a defined commercial area. Most are governed by a board made up of businesses who represent the BID area, to  decide and direct what they want for the town or city.
