Glideslope Software install new technology at the Stonechurch Project

Date published: 14 November 2016

Glideslope Software from Heywood, have installed new technology at Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme, Stonechurch Project, to help both staff and residents stay safe while providing vital access to communication facilities.

Having experienced a number of security issues, the Project was in urgent need of a system overhaul. The Project’s support workers struggled with one mobile phone between them – a phone that was easily mislaid or lost between shifts. With no access to a networked PC, the team also found themselves disconnected from important updates and fighting mounting loads of paperwork.

In addition, poorly placed CCTV monitors meant security guards struggled to supervise the safety of residents and staff alike.

Glideslope Software stepped in to assist, installing a phone line and networked computer for the team. New network cabling provided access to the CCTV system across all floors; a network cabinet was also installed along with internet access that transformed this previously disconnected team into a cohesive mobile workforce.

CEO of Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme (BYPHS), Maura Jackson said: “Providing a safe and secure environment for our residents is so important to all of us at BYPHS. It’s essential when helping young people live independently in our community. This new technology will not only keep our residents and staff safe, it helps us all remain connected. Many thanks to Glideslope for their thorough and professional support.”

John Miller, founder of Glideslope, commented: “It’s a privilege to help this fantastic local service provide a safe and connected environment for young people. It’s especially rewarding to know that our IT expertise is benefiting others in such an important way. Network cabling is not the most glamorous of solutions, but it certainly does the trick! We look forward to continuing to support Stonechurch and BYPHS in the future”

Bolton Young Persons Housing Scheme (BYPHS) was set up in 1992 to meet the needs of single young homeless people in Bolton. The scheme runs in partnership with other agencies including housing associations and registered social landlords.

Stonechurch provides temporary supported accommodation to 16-25 year olds in Bolton. This essential service helps youngsters get back on their feet, offering access not only to a safe place to sleep but also career, budget and counselling advice.
