The Whitworth-based company, which has been in business since 1835, will run as before as one brand offering the same equipment and services.

The company will have the full commitment and support of the new owners to maintain their high standards of quality and service going forward, including investing in new equipment to improve efficiencies over the next few years. They have already introduced a large portfolio of overseas agents to grow BCH’s presence in the worldwide market and several new jobs will be created in-line with plans to grow the business.

In a joint statement Stuart Grogan, Operations Director, and Brendan Kennedy, Technical Director, said: “The team are extremely pleased that after 180 years in business, BCH will continue to design and manufacture the high quality processing equipment that they have become so well-known for. We look forward to a long future of developing technologies and welcoming customers to our innovation centre for product and equipment trials.”

Grogan and Kennedy both joined the company as apprentices over 30 years ago and followed the company’s development strategy. Their experience and knowledge coupled with the support from the new owners is expected to form a strong partnership and vision for future success.

BCH Limited was established in 1835, and has developed a world-wide reputation in process engineering for the food, pharmaceutical and confectionery industries. BCH’s turnkey confectionery processing systems cover a wide range of products including the manufacture of jams, marmalades and preserves, liquorice, 100% fruit, marshmallow and caramel. They also offer cook/cool technology for chilled and frozen meals, sauces, fillings and fruit toppings.

As well as servicing these markets, the company will remain operating in the specialist fabrication sector providing high quality/specification equipment and services.
