At a time when many broadband and telecoms providers are increasing the cost of fixed line rental Zen Internet, the Rochdale-based premium broadband and telecommunications provider, has pledged a price freeze until 2020 for all small business and residential customers.
New and existing small business and residential customers of Zen, will enjoy a price freeze on line rental starting from £16.99 (inc VAT) for the next four years, at a time when other providers are increasing line rental costs by as much as nine per cent.
Broadband is now a crucial utility for most businesses and homes in the UK and a fixed line rental is now largely unavoidable. Average line rental costs in the UK have risen by as much as 33% in the past five years according to telecoms regulator Ofcom*. This has also highlighted problems being caused by increasingly complex pricing of bundles of telephone and broadband that are confusing customers and making it difficult to compare rival services.
Zen, a Which? Recommended Provider for Broadband Services, is one of the few providers to deliver broadband services with or without a line rental. It also offers a wider range of ‘easy-to-understand’ broadband and superfast broadband packages starting from £26.99 (including VAT) per month including line rental.
Andrew Fryatt, Managing Director of Zen Internet, said: “Many of the larger broadband and telephone providers have recently announced significant increases in the cost of their monthly telephone rental costs.
“This happens annually in the UK in spite of the fact that wholesale prices have remained in the doldrums for some time. At Zen we are committed to ensuring our customers benefit from a value product backed up by first-class customer care and a carrier-grade broadband connection. That’s why we’re freezing line rental costs for the next four years.”
Zen provides a full range of data, voice, hosting and infrastructure services to homes and businesses across the UK giving its customers the capabilities they need to communicate, collaborate and thrive in a highly-connected world.
The excellence of Zen’s service to its customers is underscored by a Trustpilot review rating of 9/10, as well as numerous award wins, which include being a Which? Recommended Provider for Broadband Services on nine separate occasions, and a PC Pro Best Internet Service Provider on 12 separate occasions.
