The first local businesses have been accredited to the ‘Buy with Confidence’ scheme run by trading standards to recognise trustworthy companies.
Businesses in the scheme can use the ‘Buy with Confidence’ logo on their products to show they have been recognised as operating in a legal, honest and fair way.
The scheme means consumers can find local businesses in a national database approved by trading standards.
Kleen Strike, a supplier of printers and cartridges, signed as the second company to the scheme earlier this month.
The Rochdale company has been trading for 34 years and the scheme has been welcomed wholeheartedly by director, Laura Heywood.
Ms Heywood said: “A scheme like this has been needed since I started the business; something to help know which companies to buy from and which to rely on.
“It’s important to buy locally and to know which new companies have been approved by trading standards.”
The first company to join the scheme was moving and storage company, Littleborough Removals, in May this year.
