Osteria opens in Norden

Date published: 15 June 2016

Maurizio Cecco, the founder of Manchester’s authentic, independent, family run food business, Salvi’s, is expanding his gastronomic empire as he is set to open a new concept Osteria in Norden, Rochdale.

Osteria will include all of the core elements that Maurizio is famous for in Manchester – the very best ingredients sourced directly from Italy by Maurizio himself; the simple Southern Italian cookery style typical of the Campania region learned from Maurizio’s mum; and warm, welcoming service.

Osteria is a new brand and concept for Maurizio. In Italy, an Osteria is a bar serving food, a place people can drop in and enjoy good food and wine. This is exactly what Maurizio will be bringing to Norden. It will be a more rustic, casual dining experience than Salvi’s – a neighbourhood restaurant where locals can expect fine Italian wines, and wonderful, simple comfort food. They’ll be greeted warmly for lunch and dinner, or just for drinks and nibbles.

Maurizio Cecco said: “When I was asked to get involved with The Norden Arms, I was drawn to the idea of creating a more rural, neighbourhood setting for my Italian food. I’m really excited about the prospect of bringing a taste of authentic Italy to my own neighbourhood. It’s a fantastic site and the whole team can’t wait to welcome the Rochdale community and visitors to the area to our Osteria."
