Jon Bauer joins Zen Internet as Technical Director

Date published: 09 May 2016

Zen Internet, one of the UK’s leading independent Internet Service Providers (ISP), has appointed Jon Bauer as Technical Director.

Mr Bauer has more than 15 years’ experience in the technology, media and telecommunications sector. Prior to joining Zen Internet, he was Director of Technology at TalkTalk, having held many other senior positions with the company.

Mr Bauer will head up the Network & Infrastructure division at Zen as it commences a multi-million pound investment programme to build a new national network that is fit for the future to support its growth, delivering a wider portfolio of services.

He said: “I have joined Zen to advise and deliver on the evolution of its network from a reliable and efficient one to a carrier-grade telecommunications infrastructure that will deliver and support the next generation of connectivity, IT and telecommunications services.

“When complete the new Zen network will provide the company with a solid platform on which to further build its credentials as a wholesaler, backed up by Zen’s market-leading reputation for service in the Channel.”

He added: “I was attracted to Zen by its outstanding reputation for quality, but more importantly its strong ethos for delivering an excellent customer service experience. It is passionate about customer service and has a great reputation and heritage in the industry having been named in the BCS UK IT Industry Awards as Services Company of the Year, winning a UK Customer Experience Silver Award for Technology & Telecoms and being named a Which? Recommended Provider for broadband on nine separate occasions.”

Having grown from a pioneering ISP 20 years ago, today Zen is a multi-award-winning company which provides a full range of connectivity, voice and cloud services to business, wholesale and residential customers across the UK.

Zen remains firmly focussed on providing excellent customer service and continues to invest retained profits back into the business to expand its core network infrastructure, voice and cloud offerings to ensure it continues to deliver high-quality services across the UK.
