Quat-Chem has won in three categories of the 2016 Chemicals Northwest Awards.
Almost 70% of Quat-Chem sales are now generated from export markets. Quat-Chem’s track record and continued success in export and this year its innovative approach to tackling different overseas markets won the Company the International Trade award, sponsored by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) for the second year running. Quat-Chem now exports to over 70 countries worldwide.
Quat-Chem was recognised for Operational Excellence, an award sponsored by Siemens, an engineering and technology company with an international presence. Quat-Chem has continually sought to improve its chemical manufacturing processes and make them more resource efficient. The project that won Quat-Chem this award was harnessing energy from an exothermic.
The Company was presented a third award of the evening for Sustainability, sponsored by RS Clare. Quat-Chem was recognised in this category for its holistic approach to running the business along sustainable principles.
Dr Rubinah Chowdhary, Scientific Director at Quat-Chem said: “This has been a great year for Quat-Chem. Industry recognition consequent to our success in winning Chemicals Northwest awards in 2015 was extremely valuable in securing additional business in overseas markets. Winning in these three additional categories was particularly rewarding as they have been an area of focus for the Company over the last few years. We have a committed team who derive a great deal of personal satisfaction in having made significant measurable improvements and it is fantastic for their success to be recognised in this way.
"Congratulations to all winners of Chemicals Northwest awards; this is an important hub for the chemical industry and we wish all members of Chemicals Northwest the best of luck with their future endeavours.”
