Go-karting hub on track with recent extension

Date published: 23 February 2016

Rochdale Go-karting club Team Karting is now understood to be the largest indoor track in Greater Manchester after a recent extension.

The karting centre on Queensway, Castleton has undergone extensive improvements due to "popular demand".

There are now a fleet of adult karts with Honda engines, for zooming around a 505 metre track - children’s karting is available with junior karts with smaller engines.

Ben Axworthy said: “It’s now the longest indoor track in Greater Manchester which makes it really stand out. We didn’t want to make a big song and dance about it at the time, but we stayed up all night the night before it opened making sure everything was ready.

“It was a soft launch deliberately to iron out any creases, but everything has been going really well and actually we’ve had an overwhelming response.

“This time of year is usually fairly quiet for any business, but we’ve been absolutely mobbed. It’s safe to say we are getting more and more popular.”
