Get ready to laugh until your sides ache at Rochdale Sports Club's Comedy Night!
Prepare for an evening of uproarious entertainment featuring:
MC Dean Coughlin
Since starting comedy in 2017, Liverpool comedian Dean has performed all over the UK including Edinburgh, and overseas in Australia and New Zealand. He regularly performs in the UK’s most renowned clubs and has opened for Adam Rowe on his tour in 2020 and will also be supporting Danny McLoughlin on tour in 2022. Keep an eye out for this hilarious up and coming comedian…he was born with funny bones!
Mark Nelson
Since winning the inaugural Scottish Comedian of the Year Award in 2006, barely a year after his first-ever open-spot, Mark Nelson’s mix of dark humour, cutting observations and superb one-liners has seen him firmly established as one of the UK’s biggest-hitting comedy powerhouses. He has been tour support for Jason Manford, Russell Kane and Jim Jeffries.
With a likeable manner on stage belying some of the stronger content, Nelson often has audiences laughing at things they know they really shouldn’t be laughing at. An MA degree in Politics from Glasgow University supports his brilliantly topical writing and, although his stand-up is certainly not for the easily offended, the material is intelligent, well conceived and beautifully crafted, all supported by a very confident delivery.
Mark’s excellent writing skills are also being recognised. His debut radio series Mark Nelson’s Guide To Marriage broadcast in December 2013 and won the Scottish Comedy Awards Radio Prize. He supplied material for Jason Manford’s A Funny Old Week, and three series of Russell Howard’s Good News.
Mark also wrote and performed sketches, topical stand-up and co-hosted with Susan Calman BBC Scotland’s 2014 Commonwealth Games satirical comedy series Don’t Drop The Baton. More recently Mark has appeared on The One Show (BBC1) Comedy Marathon (BBC3) and Comedy Underground (BBC Scotland) Mark has sold out his hour-long shows at more than a dozen Glasgow International Comedy Festivals and performed six hugely successful seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe. In 2017 he was voted by Voice magazine as Winner of Pick of the Fringe.
Alex Stringer
Alex Stringer’s hysterically sarcastic material and brilliant dead pan delivery has audiences howling with laughter. She is one of the fastest rising stars on the comedy circuit and has proven herself to have a huge future in the industry.
Dan Tiernan
Dan Tiernan is 26-year-old, gay, Mancunian with dyspraxia. He’s a high energy act with a gag heavy set all about his weird and chaotic life. As seen on Rosie Jones’s Disability Comedy Extravaganza (Dave) Tour Support for Jamali Maddix & Fern Brady Chortle Awards, Best Newcomer (2022) – Nominee North West Comedy Awards, Break Through Act of the Year (2021) – Winner Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year (2021) – Third Place West Didsbury Comedy Festival New Comedian of the Year (2021) – Winner Frog and Bucket, Beat The Frog World Series (2020) – Winner Ed Fringe, The SAM LGBT Award (2021) – Winner Bath Comedy Festival New Act of the Year (2021) – Finalist Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year (2021) – Finalist So You Think You’re Funny (2017) – Semi Finalist “Raucously entertaining” The Guardian “Born Funny.
