Three Reservoirs
Start place: Meet Helmshore Textile Museums car park, Holcombe Road, Helmshore
Grid Ref: SD778214
Postcode: BB4 4NP
Details:
From Helmshore Textile Museum we are making our way past Holden Wood Reservoir before crossing the road and then walking parallel with the Grane Road with views of Ogden and Calf Hey reservoirs. We cross the Grane Road and walk round Calf Hey reservoir before joining the Rossendale Way and returning past Ogden and Holden Wood reservoirs. There are a number of stiles (approx 11, some in a poor state of repair) and, depending on the weather, some sections could be very muddy. However the scenery and views are wonderful!
Additional Notes:
There are toilets about a third of the way round at Clough Head Cafe.
Please note, that due to the popularity of these walks, car sharing whenever possible would reduce parking congestion.
Advise: Walking Boots, Waterproofs if needed, adequate clothing, snack and drink.
Generally dogs are not permitted, with exception of Registered Assistance Dogs, but anyone wishing to bring a dog should contact the Walk Leader in advance to obtain His/Her consent or otherwise.
They welcome new and potential members to join their walks.
