Details:
Rochdale town centre is a real haven for pub venues and we are so lucky to have such a great offering of chains and independents.
The trail will involve visiting 9 historic venues which includes a temperance pop up bar within the Pioneers Museum.
The Rochdale Pioneers Museum is housed in the building where the Rochdale Equitable Pioneers Society started trading on 21 December 1844.
The museum is regarded as the birthplace of the modern co-operative movement.
For the event, the museum will provide a pop up temperance bar and visitors will be able to the learn how the Pioneers started a revolution in retailing whilst enjoying free sarsaparilla, cream soda and root beer.
Visitors will pick up their Heritage Pub Trail stamp cards from the museum which will guide them to several pubs which all have a fascinating past.
The trail, consists of the following venues:
For the event each venue will display their very own 'hidden heritage story' which will inform visitors facilitating insights into its rich and diverse history. All venues are interesting buildings with stories to tell from the distant to the more recent past.
For those that complete their heritage pub trail stamp cards they will be in with a chance of winning a meal for two from a town centre venue.
