The talk will take place at 2pm on Sat 7th and Sun 8th Sept and will last approx hour.

Take the opportunity to have a look around and browse some of the archives, dating back over 223 years.

This year marks 10 years since the congregation from Norden URC joined Bamford Chapel.

Information on this church will also be on display.

  • Learn about some of the people associated with the chapel.
  • What is the connection with the writers of the St James Bible?
  • How is the chapel connected to the first war photographer and royal photographer?
  • The first Rochdale MP was from Bamford Chapel.
  • Sir Robert Kay Shuttleworth, one of the founders of our education system first attended Sunday School here.
  • Information on the war dead from WW1 will be available.
  • Find out where they lived and worked and about their family connections.

Refreshments will be available.
