Rugby league: Mayfield preview

Date published: 23 June 2023

There are no games this weekend for the Mayfield open-age men's sides. A mix-up with fixtures means the NCL game at Wigan St Patrick's is off, to be rescheduled and there is no scheduled game for the NWML side. There is no shortage of rugby though for anyone who needs their fix.

Saturday 24 June, sees the U13s girls in action against Warrington Wolves in a top of the table clash. This promises to be a cracker of a game as second placed Mayfield entertain the table topping Wolves.

Sunday 25 June sees a dream day for supporters of rugby league with seven, yes seven games, taking place throughout the day. This rugby league bonanza gets under way at 9.30am as the U8s blues and the U9s whites are both in action in their respective NWC division. 10.30am sees two more games kick off, the U11s and the U13s. The U14s start their game at 11.30am followed by the U18s at 1pm. As if this wasn't enough rugby league there is an open age womens game which kicks off at 2pm with the Mayfield Ladies playing hosts to Workington Ladies.

So anyone who has an interest in rugby or just sport in general get down to the Mayfield Sports Centre on Sunday and see what the club is all about and what is on offer. The bar is open all day and food is available from the kitchen.
