SGB's fighters making weight before the fight: Macaulay Donnelly, Trent Simms and Karl Fletcher
Three MMA fighters from Rochdale made their amateur debuts at the Full Contact Contender 26 on Saturday 28 August.
Macaulay Donnelly, Trent Simms and Karl Fletcher – all of SGB, Queensway – weighed in against their opponents in feather- and lightweight rounds at the University of Bolton stadium.
Donnelly took his win against Kammy Uddin with a rear naked choke, whilst Simms won his bout against Zac Deacon in under 90 seconds.
Despite a strong start with well-executed low kicks and precise strikes, Fletcher was beaten by opponent Dec Fisher.
Mixed Martial Arts, also known as cage-fighting, is a full-contact combat sport using techniques from a range of combat sports and martial arts.
