Congratulations to last year’s Year 11 on an excellent set of GCSE results.

We will be hosting our annual Open Evening for prospective future pupils on Thursday 19 September, commencing at 6:00pm. We hope to see as many of you there as possible. The school will also be open to visitors for an Open Day for prospective students and parents on Friday 20 September, to book an appointment to visit on the Open Day please contact the school.
CSI Summer School
Oulder Hill CSI Summer School ran for 8 days at the start of the summer holidays for Year 6 pupils as a transition event. It helps the children build relationships, meet new friends and it helps them get to know staff from the school.
The theme for our Summer School is “What is it like to be a CSI?” and the activities included collecting evidence; carrying out science experiments; developing drama skills and writing scripts, crime reports and newspaper articles plus learning Spanish. All of these activities were designed to challenge and develop the children’s skills in a fun and interesting way.
Work on display at the showcase held on the last day of the Summer School included artwork, dance performances and videos based on the children’s recreations of a CSI murder mystery.
The Summer School has been successfully running for five years and always receives praise from local parents.
Year 11 Enterprise Group Promote Cultural Understanding and Acceptance
Our Year 11 Enterprise group have devised a plan to promote understanding and acceptance of all cultures. They came up with their idea in response to the cultural tensions appearing more and more frequently in the media.
Their new product is a wrist band with the caption ‘CULTURES UNITE’, available in a variety of Earth colours in addition to their Oulder Hill wrist band ‘CULTURES UNITE @ OHCS’ which has been approved for students to wear in school as a way of showing their support for other cultures.
The group’s next task is to create resources that promote understanding of different cultures, in the form of promotional materials, presentations and a website, in addition to deciding on a like minded community project to which they will donate 75p from the sale of each wrist band.
Year 11 Science
The Science Department would like to congratulate Year 11 on a fantastic set of Core GCSE Science results this year. You all worked really hard last year and have given yourselves a solid foundation to build upon this year. Now comes the hard work! We hope that you have all returned to school well rested and ready for a challenging year, preparing for Additional, triple and BTEC exams. Good luck!
Freddy Fit will be visiting Year 7 students on Friday 20 September to deliver some exciting workshops. We hope you all have an enjoyable day!
