St Cuthbert's RC School Prom 2010
Date published: 28 June 2010
Even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of St Cuthbert’s RC High School Prom this evening (Monday 28 June 2010).
As the limos arrived the heavens opened but parents were at the ready with the umbrellas and the downpour didn’t wipe the smiles off the teenagers’ faces.
The pupils met at the school before being whisked off in coaches to a secret destination.
Head of Year 11 Trish Farrelly described the year group as ‘lovely.’ She said: “There’s a lot of characters in this year group, both boys and girls. We have some very talented sports people and musicians and they are an all round very nice group of children.
“Of course at times it has been challenging but I can’t stay mad at them for long. They have been great.”
Roxanne Walsh echoed the thoughts of many when she said the school was great and she had enjoyed studying there.
In September Roxanne will start the new Rochdale Sixth Form College, she said: “I am really looking forward to it but I will miss my friends.”
Khamran Magiera is hoping for a career in graphics, in September he will begin a graphics design course at Hopwood Hall College. “I have enjoyed school,” he said.
Jeorge El-Hag isn’t ready to say goodbye to St Cuthbert’s, he will be returning after the summer break to study for his A-levels at the schools sixth form. “I am looking forward to studying PE, Biology, Sociology and Physics.”
