Cerys Dann races for GB BMX team
Cerys Dann, 15, has qualified to race for the GB BMX team at the world championships in Belgium on 21 July at Zolder race circuit.
Cerys has been racing BMX for Roch Valley Raiders based at Queen's Park, Heywood for three years and this year has stepped up and is racing her first season of national events. Recently she has raced at Cumbernauld in Scotland and also in Peckham.
She stands in first in the north region series and seventh in the national standings.
Cerys, a pupil at St Cuthbert’s High School, trains three times a week twice at the Queen's Park track and also at Manchester’s indoor facility.
She only started to ride and race after coming to watch her brother who no longer rides.
