Swarm presentation night

Date published: 13 November 2009

The Rochdale Swarm held their annual presentation night, at Firgrove Working Mens Club on Friday 6 November.

The Hornets supporters team celebrated another hugely successful season of social Rugby League. The major winners on the evening were:

  • Club person of the year- Dave Ramsbottom
  • Coaches player of the year- Dougie McEndoo
  • Most Improved player- Matty Fallows
  • Player's Player of the season - Dave Tyson

Entertainment was provided by local act Paul Chance who went down a storm with the audience.

As special guest Fijian player Netani Suka was on hand to give out the trophies, but the highlight of the evening was the video montage Dave Ramsbottom had put together of the season, including the various trips the Swarm had been on to play Tag Rugby League including Wales, London and Ireland.

The Swarm are currently taking part in a Touch Rugby League in Huddersfield and won their first game in the League this week. Several Swarm players are also turning out in the recently organised Masters game at Mayfield. Also at the end of November the Swarm are helping to host an indoor Tag Rugby League Festival in conjunction with Rochdale Hornets and Supporters Direct.

At the presentation night the Rochdale Swarm also gave the date of next seasons International Mixed Tag Rugby League Festival. It will take place on Saturday 29 May at Rakewood Sports Centre, Littleborough. Details of how teams can sign up will be released shortly.
