Rochdale Online understands that Tom Kennedy is negotiating a three-year deal with Doncaster Rovers after rejecting a contract at Rochdale AFC.
His contract with ‘Dale expires on 1 July and the popular left-back has made 146 appearances for the club after signing from rivals Bury in the summer of 2007, scoring 9 goals.
After helping Rochdale AFC to promotion to League 1, he was named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year, the second successive season he was included in the divisional eleven.
Kennedy's departure would follow the confirmation this week of Chris Dagnall's move to Scunthorpe United, and Rory McArdle’s earlier move to Scottish Premier League side Aberdeen.
Both Rochdale AFC and Doncaster Rovers were unwilling to comment.
