Hollin Primary taken off special measures list

Hollin Primary School
Middleton's Hollin Primary School has been removed from special measures after improving standards over the last 14 months. The achievement means that there are now no schools across Rochdale Borough with the status.
Schools are given a special measures status when they fail to provide an acceptable level of education and show inadequate leadership which indicates no signs of making improvements.
In a letter to Headteacher Elaine Hibbert, inspectors judged that children at Hollin Primary were now making good progress.
She said: “In the inspection last month, the school was judged to be ‘good’ in 19 areas, which is a fantastic achievement and is a testament to all the hard work put in by the teachers and children.”
Overall, Hollin Primary School is now judged to be a ‘satisfactory school’.
