The Rotary Club of Rochdale East has made a donation of £400 to the 7th A Rochdale Scout Group.
Past President Len Albon made the donation on behalf of the club, which will help towards the scout group's modernisation and repairs to their unit at Spotland Bridge.
Group Scout Leader Mike Phillips commented: "We have had a rolling programme of modernisation for the last few years. Our Group HQ was built by the Scouts themselves, and opened in 1962.
"There have been hundreds of boys and girls come through the group in that time, but our building was showing its age. This donation goes a long way to finishing off our facilities. Soon all that will be needed is a coat of paint.
"Various organisations and voluntary groups have supported us, from The Princes Trust and local businesses to the Rotary Club of Rochdale East.
"The Scout Group was founded in 1943, and we have a lot of history behind us. At present we are looking for new members, from Beaver Scouts starting at six years old to Explorer Scouts aged up to seventeen years."
