Armed police called to house in Whitworth after reports of man with a firearm

Police were called to a house on Westgate, Whitworth to reports that a man had been seen with a firearm.
Officers from Lancashire Police were called to the area at around 12:05pm on Wednesday 30 September. It is understood that a police helicopter was also used.
A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: “At around 12:05pm on 30 September a man was reported to have been seen with a firearm at an address on Westgate in Whitworth.
“Officers attended and an air rifle and a quantity of what is believed to be class A drugs were recovered.
“A man from Whitworth has agreed to voluntarily attend a police station at a later date.”
