Date published: 01 October 2015

Littleborough welcomed its new Vicar, Rev Ian Bullock, on Monday (28 September) in an induction service held at St Barnabas Church in Shore.

The service was led by Bishop Rupert Hoare and was attended by the Area Dean, Mark Coleman and the Venerable Cherry Van Arch Deacon of Rochdale.

Reverend Bullock was welcomed into the Benefice of Littleborough by members of the congregations from the three parishes - St Barnabas, Shore, St James, Calderbrook and Holy Trinity, Littleborough.

Welcome was provided by the Deputy Mayor of Rochdale, Ray Dutton and Mayoress Elaine Dutton, local councillors Ashley Dearnley and Janet Emsley, Father Neary from St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and the local Methodist Minister, Lawrence Copley.

The Acting Head of Holy Trinity, Joanne Luke and the Fire Service Chaplain, David Saville were also there to welcome Reverend Bullock into his new role.

A spokesperson for St Barnabas Church said: “The service was a wonderful celebration in which Reverend Ian and his wife Mikaela were welcomed and a drinks reception was held afterwards which was enjoyed by all.”
