Body of woman found in boot of a car
A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a woman was found in the boot of a car in Heywood.
Shortly after 7:35pm on Thursday 13 August 2015, police were called with information that the body of a woman was in the boot of a car in Heywood.
The following day at around 3:50pm, a car fitting a similar description of the vehicle was seen on Claybank Street and was pursued by police before being abandoned on nearby River Street.
Two men were detained and, after the body of a woman was found in the boot of the car, they were arrested on suspicion of murder.
The men remain in custody for questioning and enquiries are on-going.
Road closures are in place on Claybank Street, Bamford Road and Bury and Rochdale Road whilst a crime scene is in place.
