Woman has serious injuries following incident in Rochdale

A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries and a man arrested following an incident in Shawclough, Rochdale.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called to a house on Shawclough Way, Rochdale at 9.50pm [Tuesday 28 July]. On arrival officers arrested a man with a gun. A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries."
It is understood Shawclough Way remains cordoned off by the police.

UPDATE
29 July
The woman was stabbed and has died, police have arrested two men on suspicion of murder.
Police have now said that the gun found at the house was a BB gun, not a firearm.
