Four men arrested and man critical following attack on Gale Street

A man remains in critical condition in hospital following an attack in Rochdale.

Shortly before 5.45am this morning, Saturday 18 July 2015, police were called by NWAS staff to an address on Gale Street, Rochdale following reports that a man had been assaulted.

Officers attended and found an 18-year-old man with serious head injuries, believed to have been caused by a golf club. He was taken to hospital, where he is being treated for a fractured skull and bleed on the brain and remains in critical condition.

Four men, two aged 23, one 24 and one aged 25 have been arrested on suspicion of a section 18 assault and remain in police custody for questioning.

Enquiries into this incident are on-going.
