Sunday Times sandbag the Danczuks
The Sunday Times has sandbagged Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk and his selfie-loving wife, Karen; in an interview published in this weekend’s Sunday Times magazine, Mr Danczuk is compared to ‘Joey Essex’ and Mrs Danczuk described as a “professional sex object”.
The interview asks what an MP who is spearheading the very serious issue of child sex abuse is doing with a woman who “makes a living out of posting pictures of her breasts on the internet”.
The author of the piece, journalist Camilla Long, adds: “I have never met a family so chaotic. (During the interview she cries and then Simon cries, both swear and loudly slag other people off and everyone behaves as if this is a perfectly normal Sunday morning).”
Mr Danczuk is portrayed as an MP who is “in danger of being drowned by a tide of sportswear and nipples”.
Whilst the article does at times refer to Mr Danczuk’s serious work as an MP, in particular spearheading the hunt for child sex abusers, the gist of the four pages is a stream of subtle (and some less than subtle) jibes at the “colourful” couple.
