Two cars stolen from a house in Middleton

Date published: 17 February 2015

Between 11.00pm on Monday 16 February and 2.00am on Tuesday 17 February 2015 offenders broke into a home on Dale Road, Middleton.

They stole car keys to a black Seat Altea and a silver Mercedes C220 before driving off.

The police helicopter noticed the Altea driving at high speed and GMP Interceptor patrols were deployed. The car was found in Miles Platting and a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He remains in police custody for questioning.

Officers are now trying to trace the stolen Mercedes and are appealing for information.

Police Sergeant Chris Kitson said: “We have found the key to the car but have not been able to locate the vehicle itself.

"I would ask anyone who may have seen the car being abandoned or offenders fleeing the scene, to contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
