Hopwood Hall College held their annual review for 2013/14 at the Middleton campus today (Friday 13 February).

The event gave representatives from the college the opportunity to inform key stakeholders and supporters of the college about the progress and achievements made by the college, its staff and students over the past year.

Guests at the event included Mayor of Rochdale, Carol Wardle, Councillor Sultan Ali, Councillor Donna Martin, Councillor Robert Clegg and Hopwood Depree, an American actor, film director and producer who is a descendent of the original Hopwood family.

Speaking at the event, Councillor Robert Clegg OBE, who is also the Chairman of the Corporation, said: “I am very proud to be working with the best performing college in Greater Manchester. We are incredibly proud of all of our staff and are incredibly proud of the success of all of our learners.”

During the event, presentations were made by, Principal Derek O’Toole, Assistant Principal Lesley Hawkins, Deputy Principal John Spindler and pupils from the college.

Matt Jackson, a catering student at the college, said: “It has been a good four years here.
