Priorities this week continue to be around reducing burglaries and ensuring we continue to support victims of domestic violence”.

Burglaries

We have had nine burglaries reported this week throughout Rochdale North, with 4 being recorded in the central area of Rochdale.

Breakdown of burglaries per beat:

 

  • Central - 4
  • Bamford - 2
  • Norden - 1
  • Spotland and Falinge - 1
  • Healey - 0
  • Milkstone and Deeplish - 1
  • Town Centre - 0

 

We understand burglary impacts on people’s lives long after the offenders are gone. This is why we continue to give this our utmost attention. Our officers continue to carry out daily checks on suspects and giving attention to the hotspot areas, and we continue to target offenders via our ‘Dark nights’ burglary operation.

Recent Arrests/Sentences

A 25-year-male was charged has been charged with assault and theft following his arrest earlier this week. He was remanded in custody and appeared at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates Court on 9 January 2015.

A 27-year old male was sentenced, at crown court after pleading guilty to burglary. He received a sentence of approximately two years and six months imprisonment.

A 29-year-old male has been recalled to prison this week, after breaching licence conditions given to him upon release.

A 34-year-old male was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of Kidnap and money laundering. He has been bailed to allow further enquiries to be made and will have to re-attend police custody at a later date.

Earlier this week, officers executed a drugs warrant at an address in the Spotland area of Rochdale. On forcing entry to the address officers have discovered a cannabis farm the investigation is on-going.
