RBH Junior Wardens of the Year

Tyler Barry, age 9, was named 'Junior Warden of the Year' for Alkrington in Middleton. Tyler always turns up on time every week and also shows his commitment by attending the Youth Club.

Holly Parnum-Taylor, age 11, was named 'Junior Warden of the Year' for Kirkholt. Holly is always enthusiastic towards all the junior warden activities and different badges, and will always get involved. She encourages her other junior warden team members and is always punctual and reliable.

Shaun Fernando, age 10, is the 'Junior Warden of the Year' for Lower Falinge. Shaun is enthusiastic and a caring junior warden, he is shy but has made friends in the Junior Wardens. He is always keen to help with litter picking, making posters and learning about his community.

Rosie Hunston was named 'Junior Warden of the Year' for Back O’ Th’ Moss in Heywood. Rosie has been a junior warden since the group at Back O’ Th’ Moss started. She has never missed a night and is helpful. Rosie is thoughtful and caring and always goes beyond the call of duty to help others.

Kayden Wild is the 'Junior Warden of the Year' for Holt in Milnrow. Kayden attends every week and always gets involved in the sessions and never complains.

The RBH junior warden scheme empowers young people aged 8-12 to play vital roles improving their neighbourhood and community.

Ruth Sillence, RBH Communities First Co-ordinator, said: “We’re really pleased with the contribution that our junior wardens across the Borough have made to their local community, and we’re also extremely thankful for our volunteers without whom the schemes could not operate.”

The successful junior wardens received their awards at the junior warden Christmas party, held on 10 December at Castlemere Community Centre in Rochdale.
