Milnrow Band Oompah Concert

Date published: 22 October 2014

Milnrow Band provided members of Milnrow Workmen’s Club with an evening of ‘Oompah’ music on Saturday (18 October).

Band members were suitably attired for the evening with female band member’s dressed in colourful ‘milkmaid’ outfits and male band members dressed in shorts, braces, boots and a variety of headgear.

Those present were treated to three sessions of sing-a-long music in a Bavarian style. From the outset it was clear that the audience were only too willing to participate, with many dressed in appropriate attire for the occasion.

John Binns ensured that the evening went with a swing with a bright and breezy style of compering that ensured a party atmosphere from the outset.

As the night progressed, and the steins were repeatedly filled (and emptied) and filled again; the party atmosphere was heightened with the introduction of several hilarious party games.

A spokesperson said: "This great night of music and entertainment in the convivial and friendly atmosphere of Milnrow Workmen’s Club, has surely heralded an early start to Christmas festivities 2014."
