Feel Good Festival unveils a host of great side shows‏

Date published: 23 August 2014

Rochdale Feel Good Festival marks seven years on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August 2014 with Scouting For Girls and The Selecter headlining the music and chefs such as Ainsley Harriott, Andrew Nutter, and Aazam Ahmad in the celebrity kitchen.

In addition to the big names, the M6 Street Theatre will also be performing both days. Working with Aqueous Humour, the young members of the troupe have created a visually stunning piece specially for the Feel Good Festival, funded by The BBC Performing Arts Fund and The Granada Foundation.

Skylight Circus performances will include aerial escapades, unicycling horses and stilt walkers, delivering a show inspired by the angel statue that once stood in Broadfield Park.

Vibe Youth Music will be putting on live DJ workshops in the festival market, and on Saturday at 3.15pm the Rock Choir will give renditions of contemporary hits and classics led by Phil Reynolds.

Family craft and creativity sessions will be held in the Link4Life Creativity Tent, and additional bands and musical artists will perform on two floors of The Flying Horse Hotel on Friday evening and all day Saturday, with sets running well into the early hours.

Debbie Hernon, of Rochdale Feel Good Festival, said: “The Rochdale Feel Good Festival has always been about fantastic acts performing on the main stage, and esteemed chefs cooking up amazing dishes in the kitchen. But it’s also focussed on providing a truly comprehensive two-day programme that’s packed full of great entertainment for the entire family, with side shows and street artists on hand to create a really special event. This year is our biggest and best line up yet, and this continues through to the smaller attractions, and as such we expect another successful celebration of our borough, the end of summer and the importance of community.”
