Rochdale Gramophone Society salutes Honorary President, Jack Tattersall

Honorary President, Jack Tattersall presented with a collection Wagner’s operas by Robert Seagar
Rochdale Gramophone Society has saluted their Honorary President, Jack Tattersall on his 90th birthday. Jack has been a member of the Society continuously for 62 years and held various posts in the past before being elected as Honorary President over 10 years ago.
He is a great Wagner fan and was presented with a collection of 36 CDs covering all of Wagner’s operas.
Even at his advanced age Jack sets out the chairs and checks the equipment before every meeting and sees all is well before locking up afterwards. His services to the Society are inestimable and he is a very popular member.
There was a presentation during the afternoon by Robert Seagar of Barnsley RMS: “Richard Wagner – the World’s Greatest Composer?”
This was followed by afternoon tea.
