Pedestrian crossing completed on Smith Street

Smith Street pedestrian crossing
A new pedestrian crossing has been completed on Smith Street.
The new crossing was installed after a number of concerns were raised by pedestrians and councillors as to the safety in the area after the completion of the Transport Interchange.
It is understood that there are 40 bus movements per hour on Smith Street and the new crossing provides pedestrians with a safe route to cross the road, leading directly to the doors of the bus station.
The crossing adds to the improvements to Smith Street and the surrounding areas currently on-going within Rochdale Town Centre.
